  • Kinesiology Taping Basics (8 CEs)

In this interactive and challenging course, healthcare practitioners will be introduced to the PNF Stretching and kinesiology taping method. This course has been developed specifically for working with a vast variety of clients ranging from the pro-athlete, weekend athlete, general fitness client, clients who are in severely de-conditioned states, different ages, genders and race. The focus of this course is to learn how to properly perform partner assisted stretches with a client.

How to take a postural analysis will be taught and practiced, along with a review of commonly facilitated musculature and assessment techniques will be taught and practiced as well. The instructor will introduce the taping concepts, theory and history, and discuss the five major physiological systems response – skin, fascia, circulatory/lymphatic, muscle and joint. Kinesiology taping assessments and clinical discussion will be included for the whole body.

This course is a combination of lecture and practical lab. Attendees will have hands on practice and interactive feedback and instruction. At the completion of this course, attendees will be able to discuss the concepts and apply the taping to address overuse syndromes, stimulate weak muscles or relax shortened muscles, and decrease pain and swelling.
