Dr. Jeff Cullers is a Board Certified & Florida Licensed Doctor of Chiropractic Medicine, graduated from the prestigious Palmer College of Chiropractic and holds a Bachelors Degree in Science from Excelsior College. He is a Florida Licensed Massage Therapist, graduated from the Daytona Institute of Massage and a Science of Massage Institute Instructor & Certified Medical Massage Practitioner. Dr. Cullers has also been Certified as a Personal Fitness Trainer with the National Academy of Sports Medicine.

In total Dr. Cullers has achieved over 24 years of education. He has attained 4620 hours of formal Doctorate studies in Chiropractic and Physical Medicine, 120 hours of Undergraduate studies, 500 hours of massage school studies and countless hours of Continuing Education with a primary focus in Medical Massage modalities. Dr. Cullers practical experience working in the health and wellness industry for the past 30 years has been immense. In addition, Dr. Cullers spent 2 ½ years mentoring with Dr. Ross Turchaninov DC, MD, Ph.D., founder of the Science of Massage Institute, considered to be the pre-eminent authority regarding Medical Massage in the US. Because of his training, he now presents Medical Massage seminars and teaches Medical Massage protocols to properly address over 70 somatic and visceral pathologies on behalf of Dr. Ross Turchaninov and the Science of Massage Institute.

Dr. Cullers began learning and studying MLD in massage school in 1994 based on the original Dr. Vodder Method of Manual Lymph Drainage. He continued to research, explore and utilize MLD throughout his career. During this time as an MT, he provided Medical Massage for 3 years within an Oncology/Hematology practice serving the needs of cancer patients who were either undergoing cancer treatment or were in supportive care. Thereafter, he relocated and maintained a Medical Massage practice which was located next to another Oncology practice and next to a Pain Management practice. For an additional 3 years, he provided Medical Massage to the patients of those practices as well as to one of the physicians of the Oncology practice.

As a physician, Dr. Cullers utilizes Medical Massage including MLD daily in his practice. He provides care to patients who have somatic and visceral pathologies, who may have Lymphodynamic or Lymphostatic edema, who may have recently been diagnosed with cancer, are in active cancer treatment or are in recovery. As a result of the Medical Massage protocols he uses, physicians in his community now refer their patients to his practice for care.

In this interactive and challenging course, Dr. Cullers discusses the important facts of understanding the many facets of oncology massage. Using the “who, what, when, why, how” teaching model, Dr. Cullers will share the many facets pertaining to this topic; who uses oncology massage, what is oncology massage, what is cancer, the various effects of cancer treatments, when massage therapy should and should not be performed, as well as the concept and application of Oncology Massage and common medications related to cancer treatments.

Additionally, you will learn the importance of understanding how to use the “decision tree model” in developing a safe and effective Oncology Massage care plan and the importance of effective communication with the client/patient and physicians.

During the first part of this course, Dr. Cullers will discuss the indications and contraindications of Oncology Massage, the anatomy and physiology of the lymphatic system, the history and theory of Manual Lymphatic Drainage massage (MLD) known as the Vodder technique, (developed by E. Vodder Ph.D.), and the techniques and applications of Manual Lymphatic Drainage massage (MLD). Dr. Cullers will then discuss the important facts of understanding the many facets of oncology massage, as well as the conditions of Lymphodynamic and Lymphostatic Edema.

During the first part of this course, Dr. Cullers will share the concept and application of Oncology Massage, as well as other massage modalities i.e Swedish Massage, Reflexology etc. as it applies to an Oncology patient who has not had lymph nodes removed and who may have Lymphodynamic Edema.

During the second part of this course, Dr. Cullers will instruct the attendee on the proper assessment and application of (MLD) for the Oncology client who has had lymph nodes partially or completely removed and who may have  Lymphostatic Edema. Dr. Cullers will then present alternative safe methods of massage techniques to be used i.e variations of Effleurage, Kneading and Passive Stretching.

Upon successful completion of these Seminars, as well as successfully passing examination, the attendee will receive a Specialty Certificate in Oncology Massage from the National Academy of Medical Massage.
