Instructor: Sterling Richards

Sterling Richards, Exercise Physiologist, NCAA All American Athlete, Physical Therapy student and Licensed Massage Therapist, presents Massage for the Geriatric Population.

Sterling will prepare students for working with the ever growing aging population.

Working with aging adults will help to broaden the clientele of any therapist. People are living and staying active much longer and the benefits of massage are abundant, making it a valuable resource for maintaining health and function for aging adults.

During this course the students will develop the understanding necessary to use the skills they already possess to treat the geriatric population.

Additionally, new skills will be developed to help them navigate the considerations that are needed when working with older individuals specifically, students will be able to evaluate skin fragility, muscle wasting, circulation conditions and other difficulties related to aging.
